ARLINGTON, VA: The world’s only space travel company seeking an adventure-minded executive with a passion for space flight and a tenacious deal-closing ability. SPACE ADVENTURES is rapidly expanding the frontier of space travel, events, and entertainment. Our one-of-a-kind adventures include flights in zero gravity aircraft, high-altitude super-sonic fighter jets, space flight training, astronaut-hosted Space Shuttle launches and actual flights into space.

  • DESCRIPTION: Interesting products, fun people – You will be responsible for defining sales strategy, budgeting and forecasting, you will bring extensive experience in developing sales teams to promote and sell, direct and coordinate sales team, developing long range goals and objectives, and aid the senior management in formulating and administering organization policies. You will be responsible for ensuring maximum sales volume of product and services. You will be asked to participate in formulating company policies. You will also need to confer with sr. management and other personnel to review achievements and discuss changes in goals and objectives.

  • REQUIREMENTS FOR THE VP OF SALES AND MARKETING:
    • Five years experience as a VP of Marketing.
    • Fifteen years experience in marketing management.
    • PC proficient/Internet savvy, with particular comfort and experience in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, CRM Databases and web-based Sales/Lead Management Software such as UPSHOT, and laptop networked computers.
    • Enthusiastic and high-energy personality.
    • Have a keen understanding of both the short-term and the strategic sales process, and in knowing how to manage the myriad of contacts required for complex sales into large organizations or high-end clients.
    • Professional courtesy.
    • Exceptional telephone and personal presentation skills with absolute credibility.
    • Excellent general communication skills, both written and oral.
    • Personal honesty and integrity.
    • Ability to work independently or in teams.
    • Understand the fundamentals of promotional marketing, including the use of prizes in promotional marketing events.
    • Creativity in developing programs with our customers to help them in their product sales or company efficiency.
    • Demonstrated experience in working with the legal team to formulate complex sales contracts, assuring that all of the administrative and legal aspects of a deal are covered.
  • PLUSES FOR THE POSITION:
    • Experience in the travel industry is a big plus.
    • Personal contacts throughout the marketing management of Fortune 500 companies, the desire and ability to participate personally in the products sold, including: space flight, high-altitude supersonic flight, Zero-G flight, and other high adventure space training or travel also highly desirable.
