Olsen paid $20 million for the chance to be the third private person to fly into space. The other private space explorers are American businessman Dennis Tito and the ‘the first African in space’ Mark Shuttlesworth. Space Adventures, Inc. headquartered in Arlington, Va. helped arranged the trip for Olsen with the Russian Space Federation. "Today marks another triumph in commercial space travel. Greg has been committed to this mission since day one and so has the staff at Space Adventures. He is an inspiration to us and I’m sure he will inspire millions around the world through this mission," said Eric Anderson, president and chief executive officer of Space Adventures.
