Cosmonaut Training includes a large amount of physical conditioning to acquaint cosmonauts and astronauts to the experience of spaceflight. High-g loads during launch and re-entry can be simulated by different training programs. Flights in supersonic jet aircraft is one way to simulate the experience and at the same time give you a chance to enjoy the trill and excitement of an acrobatic jet flight experience with the expert tutelage of a Russian "top gun" jet pilot. We offer several high-g flight programs using several legendary jet aircrafts available at the Gromov Flight Research Institute in Zhukovsky Air Base.

Since 1994, adventurers from all over the world have visited the Gromov Flight Research Institute at the Zhukovsky Air Force Base, just outside of Moscow, Russia. Zhukovsky Air Base is the Russian equivalent to Edwards AFB in California. It is used as a testing facility for the country's top aircraft design and construction bureaus. Through a partnership with the Flight Research Institute, Space Adventures offers flights aboard these high performance combat aircrafts.

Flights are conducted out of Ramenskoye Air Station by our expert Russian test pilots. The Russian Aviation Authority has certified all of our aircraft for these flights. The MiG-29UB combat-capable training versions we use all have a 2-person cockpit layout, with control and steering capability from both seats. Cockpit visibility is much improved compared to any previous Soviet / Russian fighter, with a bubble canopy and wrap around windshield. Over the last nine years, we and our partners have conducted more than 2,000 flights on various aircraft, with passengers from all over the globe.
