Space Adventures developed the Orbital Pre-Qualification Program (OPQ) in cooperation with Russia's Institute for Biomedical Problems (IMBP) and the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center as the first logical step towards your orbital spaceflight. The Space Adventures OPQ program is the only officially recognized qualification program for non-career spaceflight candidates.

Over two weeks in Russia, you will experience a variety of sophisticated simulations developed to train astronauts and cosmonauts for spaceflight to the International Space Station.

You will also meet with world class long duration space medicine experts to conduct a thorough examination and evaluation of your physical, physiological, and psychological ability to cope with the space environment.

Should you pass these tests, you will then meet with a medical review panel to receive your certification as an official spaceflight candidate. From there, real in depth cosmonaut training begins.

Speak to your Space Adventures representative regarding the preparation requirements for this in-depth program.
